Bob is a great instructor, he was able to unravel the technical aspects of photography in a way that can be understood by non-experts. Really had fun with him.

This is the second class I attended with Nicholas. I am more amazed than ever of his skills both as photographer and teacher. He is able to pivot between beginners and advanced photographers seamlessly. It continues to inspire with creative suggestions and astute tips with both camera use, and with how to approach the one's own style and vision. I hope the Manhattan Photography Group can keep on as an event host. He is a tremendous asset to this venue

Nicholas is a great guide and a good teacher. He smartly divided the group into beginners and experienced photographers and spent equal time with each. Chinatown was a good location and the directions were very clear. It was a great neighborhood for exploring Street photography.

Nicholas was helpful without being imposing, always available to assist with questions. He let the group dynamic take shape which is one of the best reasons to join. He provided excellent tips and set up some suggestions for strategies. He was available to engage in ideas about style, purpose, and personal goals for photography. He as willing to assist (me) struggling with certain camera functions (not the basics). His mix of laid back style and excellent photo understanding for me were superlative. As participants scattered, he was able to gently herd the small group (7) together, while respecting the interests of those who wished to wander. A truly wonderful experience.

I had a great time photographing in Greenwich Village with Nicolas. It was really cold (10 F, felt like 2 F) but we occasionally found the sun and found lots of interesting subject material. I learned a lot of new concepts that I will try to incorporate into how I compose my photographs in the future. Great class.

It was the very first time for me to attend an event held by Manhattan Photography Group, and I can say I'm really surprised. I didn't have very high expectations because of similar events i attended in other cities around the world, but Nicolas was perfect! Accurate choice of the place where to shoot, perfect guide around chinatown's streets. I really appreciated all the feedbacks and tips he gave me to refine my style and my "view", still preserving my approach and what stories i'd like to tell with my photography. I will attend for sure other events in the future, hoping they will be held by Nicolas!

My life has been unconventional, needed some time off after High School so I left NJ and went to work for the Forest Service in NH, from there Ski bumming in VT, a summer in the Virgin Islands, another working with the Native Americans in SD and then fishing in Alaska. Time to get back to college so got a A.S. in Bus. from LSC in VT and then a BFA in Photo from RIT. A reluctant move to the Big Apple, for I was a country kid and now I have become a hipster in the heart of Brooklyn. In the interim, marriage, a kid, a few cats, a dog, divorce and a few landlord lawsuits. Doing the photography thing the whole time with the typical up and down success and droughts, have worked with celebrities, corporations, some magazine covers, been on TV met good people, evil people. Work in progress, why don't you become a part of it!

I took this picture as a quiet metaphor for life. The wheel rpresents the circle of life: rising, reaching its height, and slowly descending. The sunset suggests the end of the journey, not with fear, but with beauty and dignity. The reflection in the river is like old memoriessoft, blurred, but still alive. In that moment, I felt I was not photographing London, but time itself: life moving in a circle, the day coming to an end, and the past glowing gently in the water.

Franklin, Wiggles (sister) and I all live in Albuquerque, NM. Franklin is a rescue that found me after I lost my Mini Dachshund, girl, Casey. He is a sweet, affectionate, gentle little spirit that came from an abusive environment but now lives peacefully, acting as a model, in my little home studio. The photo was shot with a Lumix 5sii, 50mm, f9, iso 100, 1/60 shutter speed and a 2-flash set up.
