Welcome to our Brooklyn Heights street photography class. This class is designed for anyone who is interested in exploring the rich history and unique charm of this historic district while also developing their eye as a street photographer.
Brooklyn Heights is a neighborhood that is steeped in history and character, making it an ideal location for capturing candid moments and everyday scenes. Throughout the course, we will explore the neighborhood's tree-lined streets, brownstones, and waterfront parks
In this class, we will cover the basics of street photography, including composition, lighting, and capturing the decisive moment.
Throughout this class, we will focus on developing your personal style and vision as a photographer, and exploring the unique characteristics of Brooklyn Heights as a subject.
Street Art Photography
Saturday 17 June
Central Park - 12:30pm - 2 Hours
Creating Photographic Blue Prints
Grade Level: Middle School (can be adapted for other grade levels)
Objective:
Introduce students to the cyanotype process and its historical significance.
Develop students' understanding of light-sensitive materials and how they react to UV light.
Encourage creativity and experimentation through the creation of cyanotype prints.
Learn about the chemistry and how to tone images.
Golden Hour Meetup

The Golden Hour is so named for the color or light that slants across the landacape as the sunsets. In this meetup we will aim to create stunning images with the particularities of light at this short time during the day.
Landscape Photography

The Bronx Library Center - 10am - 2 Hours
Landscape photography is possibly one of the most popular genres, so we'll be looking at how you can improve your shots and help your photos stand out from the crowd. We will be focusing on composition, panoramas, equipment tips and settings to use.
All skill levels welcome! The professional photography instructor will be there to provide advice, feedback and tips on how to improve your photos and camera skills.

Panoramas Photography Meetup

We will be exploring the wide long views of Astoria Park. There are bridges, a river, and boats to photograph, among other things. These long views are great for panorama photography.
Long Exposure Photography

Learn the basics of long exposure to capture light trails along with tripod photography.
Long exposure refers to a technique where you keep the shutter open for an unusually long period of time. This results to interesting effects in your photographs.

Abstract photography involves capturing a subject in a way that renders it either partially or completely unrecognizable, emphasizing instead on the interplay of shapes, colors, and form.
In this workshop, we will explore the art of creating striking and thought-provoking images through the use of abstraction.
Our experienced instructor will guide you through the process of understanding and applying the principles of abstract photography, including composition, color, and texture. We will cover topics such as finding inspiration in everyday objects, experimenting with different angles and perspectives.
Motion Blur - Using Blur in Photography

Learn to use intentional motion blur to enhance your photography. We will cover a range of blurring techniques including long exposures, panning and intentional camera movement for artistic purposes. Not all blurry photos are accidents!
